Red Hat / Cloud-native applications / EX188
Build and operate applications with Podman
Start the cloud-native developer route with standalone containers. EX188 is a practical exam covering images, registries, Containerfiles, local and multi-container applications, storage, security, and troubleshooting.
Core learning
Follow the current official objectives
- 1.Container and image fundamentals
- 2.Containerfiles and custom images
- 3.Registries, tags, pull, push, and backup
- 4.Rootless Podman networking, storage, and secrets
- 5.Multi-container applications
- 6.Inspection, logs, events, and troubleshooting
Hands-on consolidation
Perform the work in an isolated lab
On a disposable RHEL-compatible host, build two custom images, publish them to a private registry, run a rootless multi-container application with persistent data, secrets and networking, generate a persistent service, then diagnose broken image, permission, port, and volume configurations.
You can build, run, connect, persist, secure, inspect, and troubleshoot containerized services without relying on a graphical interface.
