Understand Google Cloud and its business value
Start with cloud concepts and business decisions. No prerequisite certification is required; this is also a useful optional foundation before technical study.
Core learning
Build understanding, one area at a time
Use the official exam guide as your complete coverage checklist. These study blocks organize your preparation; they are not a replacement for the full blueprint.
- 1.Connect digital transformation to business outcomes; compare data, analytics, and AI use cases.
- 2.Explore infrastructure and application modernization, including managed services and cloud operating models.
- 3.Understand security responsibilities, trust, costs, and reliable cloud operations.
Hands-on consolidation
Put it into practice
Create a one-page proposal for a fictional retailer moving an application to the cloud. Identify its business problem, compare a managed service with a self-managed alternative, and record who owns access, data protection, costs, and recovery. No paid resources are needed.
Ready to move on when…
You can explain the proposal to a non-technical colleague, identify a trade-off, and distinguish business value from a product feature.
Use isolated labs and synthetic data, never production. Check current prices before creating resources. Budget alerts do not cap spending; remove resources and backups you no longer need.
Practice and review
Find gaps with our GCP-CDL test
Try the questions, explain why each option is right or wrong, and return to the relevant official resource. Repeat practical work where your understanding is weak.
